STRENGTHS• Allows teachers to have additional instruction time during the days of quarterly assessments.
• Gives a drive and inspiration for student to push themselves and perform well in school and their classes so they can get exempt from the test. • Less stress for students due to the possibility of a lightened testing schedule and silent study halls to help them study for other tests. • With the new requirement of PARCC testing, the new schedule gives every student at Ridge High School the chance to not have an assessment during PARCC making the third and fourth marking period testing less stressful. • This solution will not have to be brought to the Board of Education's Finance or Personnel committees because it does not require fundraising and it does not require a reconstruction of the teachers' pay schedule during testing. |
WEAKNESSES• All grades besides the quarterly will need to be posted so the teacher can tell if the student needs to take the test or not. This could put a little more pressure on teachers to quickly finish their grading.
• There is still a chance for some students to have quarterlies during PARCC testing. This could create stress on the Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors that need to take PARCC. • There will still be required homework during quarterlies, making additional work for some students.
