STAKEHOLDERS IN FINALS ACTION PLAN
Direct Beneficiaries - Students will benefit from our minimum test and low stress plan. Teachers will also benefit from the increase in teaching time (as opposed to midterms and finals) and from having fewer tests to grade.
Profiteers - There are no profiteers because our plan does not involve financial reasoning.
Indirect Beneficiaries - Some parents will indirectly benefit from their children's low levels of stress and future employers will benefit from our plan's ability to increase the educated workforce.
Opponents - Other parents may be against our plan because they want their child's education to be very rigorous and test-based. However, they may soon discover that preparing and performing well on one cumulative test will be more beneficial to an education than several stressful tests. Additionally, some students may oppose Finals because they are getting tested on a lot of material. However, the opponents of Finals could be convinced to support Finals after they realize that is preparing students for the degree and sum of material on the Final exams in college.
Supporters - The local School Board will support Finals because Finals require less testing which would interfere with PARCC testing and would receive less backlash from parents since their children would have less stress. Also, teachers will support Finals because these tests connect the lessons learned throughout the year and help the students to understand the goal of the course.
